In most learning platforms, the goal is to present learners with information and then test each user’s understanding with a quiz. We find this an isolating and ineffective way to learn. While these steps are possible within Huddle Up, the power of our platform comes as we allow learners to go a step further and allow users to apply their learning. All Huddle Up courses are structured around two unique elements.

  1. The goal for each learner is to share his/her own unique solution to a specific challenge. Users can also share smaller steps toward this solution along the way. This is how they apply their knowledge and go beyond a quiz to demonstrate understanding.

  2. With a variety of solutions now present within the platform, during the course, each “Huddle” allows each learner to further benefit from giving and receiving peer feedback  p This feedback can be qualitative (comments, etc.) or quantitative (numerical in nature, rubrics, scores, etc.).

Within this interactive environment, we leverage social learning, as we learn from one another. All of this data throughout the course helps each learner focus on strengths and weaknesses while seeing a variety of solutions broaden understanding. Simultaneously, the organization as a whole benefits from the variety of solutions to make progress (if needed) in identifying the solutions and aspects of solutions that are best structured to solve the problem.

In this way, we hope to meet our mission to “change the way that individuals and organizations learn.”
